CORONAVIRUS: WASTEWATER ANALYSIS WILL HELP THE HEALTHCARE SYSTEM

Can blackwater host the Coronavirus? The question is legitimate, since any information related to the Covid-19 is an additional piece of knowledge of its behavior, as well as useful to manage a possible new wave.

Researchers in Lausanne and Zurich analyzed the wastewater in their respective cities and found traces of the virus in low quantities. This discovery is crucial, because the more people connected to the sewage, the higher the chance of finding the virus in the swage, after even before the symptoms of the disease are detected in infected patients.

For years now, water analysis have made it possible to identify abnormal substances in citizens, first and foremost drug use, especially in large cities.

The aim here is clearly to pre-alert the health care system if there is an abnormal increase in the amount of virus in the water, in order to strengthen the complex support network in the management of the pandemic.
