Where do you throw the tetrapack? And a broken ceramic tile?
Finally, an app will be able to help us solve the small but big questions about the correct disposal of household waste: it’s Junker, created by Giacomo Farneti five years ago and improved today to make life easier for us. All it takes is a photograph, and the system will analyze the composition of the product and suggest us how to dispose of it in accordance with the regulations of the municipality where we are.
The service tha Junker is able to offer is also self-sustaining through feedback from registered users, who develop product recognition through their photographs and reports. To date, there are about 1.6 million products inserted, of which 220 thousand reported by citizens from different areas of the peninsula, from north to south (800 municipalities of origin of users), but above all of different ages, demonstrating the transversal target to which it is addressed. The ease of use in fact manages to be well managed by young and old, but also foreigners, being translated into ten different languages.
At the moment, 1.3 million Italians have downloaded it completely free of charge, also taking advantage of the latest update, which includes a “Reuse Notice Board”: the possibility to exchange, without profit, objects that you want to get rid of and that you do not want to throw away. A way to give a new life to the things we want to get rid of, in a digital form of barter.
