Ladurner Equipment, a company in Bolzano specialized in waste collection equipment, has supplied three full electric vehicles to Asia, the municipal waste collection company of Naples, to make waste collection more sustainable.

The ultimate goal is to transform Naples into the first smart city in the Mediterranean, but it will be a path to be taken in small steps, such as the electrification of the fleet, so as to reduce emissions, environmental impact and service costs.

Ladurnern Equipment, in collaboration with Asia, has started the stress tests, which will last 15 days. During the test period, the vehicles supplied will be placed in the ordinary collection paths and used for emptying the waste paper baskets and containers for separate door-to-door collection. The experimentation will be carried out mainly in the historic center, but will also affect the area of the seafront, with smaller and agile means to move between the streets full of tourists.

The vehicles supplied by Ladurner Equipment and which will be tested are of three types: a small vehicle with a two cubic meter tank, a mini compactor with seven cubic meters and a five cubic meter tank.

Ladurner Equipment’s full electric vehicles guarantee zero emissions and zero noise. In addition, Asia hopes to feed them with the green energy self-produced by the company itself, so as to reduce the impact of waste collection to zero.
