Il primo impianto italiano per produrre energia dai rifiuti a zero emissioni di CO2 di orgine fossile verrà costruito nella periferia di Milano. Il progetto prevede due linee produttive che uniscono il trattamento dei rifiuti e la depurazione delle acque, con l’obiettivo di seguire le logiche di economia circolare a impatto zero.

Secondo i piani, la struttura sarà in grado di produrre 11.120 MWh all’anno di energia elettrica e 242 m3 all’ora di biometano.

La vera novità è l’utilizzo della digestione anaerobica dei rifiuti organici per produrre biometano: tramite un processo biochimico, che prevede l’assenza di ossigeno, permette di trasformare la sostanza organica in biogas e in digestato, una sorta di fertilizzante, che a sua volta viene poi trasformato in metano.

Grazie alla tecnologia di questo impianto, sarà possibile diminuire del 76% le emisisoni dannose e i fumi, nonché annullare le emissioni di CO2.

The first Italian plant to produce energy from waste and with zero emissions of fossil origin will be built in the outskirts of Milan. The project includes two production lines that combine waste treatment and water purification, with the aim of following the logic of zero-impact circular economy.

According to the plans, the facility will be able to produce 11,120 MWh per year of electricity and 242 m3 per hour of biomethane.

The real novelty is the use of anaerobic digestion of organic waste to produce biomethane: through a biochemical process, which provides for the absence of oxygen, it allows to transform the organic substance into biogas and digestate, a kind of fertilizer, which in turn is then transformed into methane.

Thanks to the technology of this plant, it will be possible to reduce harmful emissions and fumes by 76%, as well as to eliminate CO2 emissions.
